An authentic travelling circus that’s home to the weird and wonderful world of clowns, magicians and variety artists sets the scene for Dennis Ferrer’s latest show at ADE, and anticipation is building with just under a fortnight to go. Acquired from travelling gypsies by infamous event organisers Thuishaven, the circus will literally come to town to house the ‘Wintercircus Opening Weekender’, and the Objektivity crew are set to provide one heck of a party.
Quickly becoming 1 of the biggest movements in Amsterdam, Thuishaven have a prolific reputation for their elaborate parties after just 1 year of organising last-minute festivals and infamous raves in the spectacular circus environment. With Dennis’ party closing the 3 day weekender, expect the 10 hour daytime party to go off with a bang as the deep tech house sounds provided by the Objektivity crew will fill the big top in style to create an incredible atmospheric experience.
Equally as innovative is Dennis’ impeccable production ability and cutting edge approach to electronic music. Since launching Objektivity in 2009 the label has proven its capability to consistently deliver quality records, with releases coming from young phenomenons The Martinez Brothers, underground players Sante and Andrea Oliva and classic New York house heads like Timmy Regisford and Quentin Harris. Dennis’ own discography is littered with hits and dance floor anthems, with the likes of ‘Mind Ur Step’ (2013), ‘The Red Room’ (2010) and his remixes of Coyu’s ‘Salvation’ (2013) and Nick Curly’s ‘Underground’ (2012) as recent highlights. With his much awaited remix of London Grammar’s ‘Sights’ set for an autumn release through Ministry of Sound, expect big things to come from Dennis and co in the coming months.
Accompanied by Chez Damier, Phil Weeks, Lexer, Andre Hommen, Nasser Baker and a special mystery guest, the ‘Winter Circus’ is one certainly not to be missed.
