On Saturday October 22nd, Objektivity spices up the Dam again with one of its notorious Amsterdam Dance Event Specials. Together with Dekmantel, who are also hosting an area, a massive line-up has been put together. None other than Objektivity’s own Dennis Ferrer, The Martinez Brothers and André Hommen are going to take to the decks – as will Theo Parrish, San Proper, Casper Tielrooij and Thomas Martojo. Live acts are supplied by Juju & Jordash, Alfabet and Makam. All this will take place in Toko MC, one of Amsterdam’s hottest new locations.

The musical integrity of Dennis Ferrer is unquestionable. With a career that spans over a decade and an immaculate discography that strikes fear in the hearts of his contemporaries, his modus operandi is quality over quantity, motivated by the desire to evolve with each new piece of music he creates.
And so we welcome with open arms his long-awaited follow-up to last year’s The Red Room. The track, titled No Difference, sees Ferrer collaborate with André Hommen, an integral part of the Objektivity label and a long time touring companion. Hommen is a young aspiring producer from Dusseldorf, Germany who is returning for his second release on the label following the collaborative release Marashi in 2009 with Gorge and has been garnering increasing amounts of attention recently from the house world.

New Jersey based House music producer and DJ, Dennis Ferrer has been nominated as 2009′s best Deep House Music DJ in the 12th edition of the DJ Awards.
This is the second nomination for Dennis this year – earlier this year he was nominated and won first place as best Deep House Artist in Beatports 2009 Music Awards recognizing electronic music talent.
Dennis’ current release is the club hit single “Sinfonia Della Notte” for Strictly Rhythm. He is currently working on his new album tentatively entitled “The More Things Change” with a first single from the record slated for sometime this fall. Meanwhile he continues to DJ worldwide with upcoming gigs at Aquasella Festival in Spain, Watergate in Berlin, Krush Club in Belgium, Shindig in Newcastle and Water Taxi beach in New York.

Online dance music retailer Beatport today announced the results of its 2009 Beatport Music Awards, which aims to recognize electronic music talent. With nominees having been soley based on 2008 unit sales from Beatport.com, the public voted for their favorite artists and tracks across 35 categories. The 35 categories were split as follows: Best Artists (separated into 17 genres), Best Track and a final open question asking the public to name the most ‘influential, relevant and forward thinking person in electronic music in 2008. Over 10,000 Beatport users took part in the vote.
